Robert Flavell, MD, PhD

Robert Flavell, MD, PhD, is the Division Chief of the Section of Molecular Imaging and Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco. In the clinic, Dr. Flavell interprets PET/CT and nuclear medicine examinations and provides targeted radionuclide therapies.  His research centers on the design, synthesis, and clinical translation of novel PET radiotracers and theranostic radiopharmaceuticals to improve the detection and treatment of cancer, with particular focus on prostate cancer and the tumor microenvironment. At UCSF, he leads collaborative efforts spanning radiochemistry and molecular imaging to bring promising agents into first-in-human studies and clinical trials.
